R3 million fee and eight decisions

FIFA is expected to advise Kaizer Chiefs to pay R1.5 million each in development compensation for Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman, two rising talents developed by Cape Town Spurs, in line with its regulations.

Under FIFA’s framework, clubs must compensate teams that trained a player between the ages of 12 and 21, especially when the player signs a first professional contract or transfers before the age of 23.

A recent local report suggests Kaizer Chiefs are open to reaching this agreement.

EIGHT PLAYERS LEAVE AMAKHOSI

The chop continues at Kaizer Chiefs. The Betway Premiership giants have announced the departure of Tebogo Potsane, bringing the club’s exit list to eight players.

Tebogo Potsane’s Kaizer Chiefs dreams are over. Amakhosi have announced the 31-year-old’s departure after just two seasons in black and gold.

Potsane, who was signed by Kaizer Chiefs’ former coach Molefi Ntseki from Royal AM in 2023, has left Amakhosi after 19 appearances.

The writing has been on the wall since the start of preseason, when the Bloemfontein-born winger did not travel with Amakhosi to the training camp in the Netherlands… Full story here.
