Potsane leaves as the clear-out continues at Kaizer Chiefs

Posted on July 30, 2025

Chiefs are expected to offload more players to make room as they look to sign quality players for the upcoming season.

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of out-of-favour winger Tebogo Potsane.

Potsane joined Amakhosi from Royal Am in 2023, but despite his talent, never really established himself in the Chiefs’ first team.

Injuries hindered his stay at the club. He leaves Chiefs after making only 19 appearances in two seasons.

“As Kaizer Chiefs continue to prepare for the upcoming season, the Club and midfielder Tebogo Potsane have parted ways amicably. We thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best in the future,” read a statement from Chiefs on social media.

Potsane also played for Free State Stars, Bloemfontein Celtic, and Royal AM before his move to Chiefs.

OPINION – New season, same old Kaizer Chiefs?

Meanwhile, Chiefs are expected to offload players to make room for quality players for the upcoming season.

Players like goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari and left-back Happy Mashiane, and midfielder George Matlou are still believed to be facing uncertain futures at the club. They could be released before the season starts.
