Orlando Pirates have received an offer higher than $2 million for Bafana Bafana winger Relebohile Mofokeng, according to reports in the US.
Mofokeng, 20, has been the standout performer in Pirates’ team over the last two season, winning back-to-back Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season awards.
The winger has attracted a lot of interest, especially from Israel as well as Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq, the club that secured the services of his Mohau Nkota from the Buccaneers last month.
However, with no move materialising as yet, Minnesota – the side of Bongokuhle Hlongwane – have seemingly made an official bid.
According to respected American journalist Tom Bogert, Minnesota have submitted an official bid higher than $2 million (35 million), with talks between both clubs ongoing.
Bogert further states, MNUFC are “long-time admirers of Mofokeng” and would sign him as one of the U-22 players.
