Orlando Pirates started their BetWay Premiership campaign with a loss to Sekhukhune United.

Orlando Pirates lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune United at home.

This was not the start Abdeslam Ouaddou or Bucs wanted. So, let’s take a look at which Bucs players flopped and who performed well during their loss.

WHO FIRED FOR PIRATES

Sipho Mbule – 7/10

Mbule put in another solid performance in the Bucs midfield. Despite the loss, he was calm and composed all day. He held the ball well and maintained position for the Bucs. He also tested the keeper from range and was one of the only Pirates stars who played well.

Sihle Nduli – 7/10

Nduli and Mbule look set to play a key role for the Bucs in the midfield. He won back position a couple of times and kept play moving.

WHO FLOPPED FOR THE BUCS

Sipho Chaine – 6/10

Chaine slowed down play with his delaying tactics. However, it worked against Pirates as they struggled to get build momentum on attack.

Tshepo Mashiloane (6/10)

He struggled defensively and did not offer much on the counter. He had a better second half and a below par first.

Patrick Maswanganyi (6/10)

Maswanganyi saw plenty of ball but did not do much with it. He did not have confidence to take on defenders and did not offer much on attack.

Oswin Appollis (6/10)

Appollis failed to deliver on the expectation and hype surrounding his first performance for Pirates in the MTN8 quarter final against Polokwane City. He was quite and did not make much of an impact.
