Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana has agreed to join Turkish club Trabzonspor on a season-long loan following a disastrous spell at the club.
Onana travelled to Turkey this week after the two clubs finalised the deal which will see him earn a big pay rise due to the signing-on fee and bonuses.
The 29-year-old shot-stopper’s future has been a subject of discussion this whole summer after United signed Senne Lammens from Antwerp in a £21.7million deal.
Despite costing United £47.2m from Inter Milan two years ago, the Cameroon international has struggled for consistency, committing a number of high-profile errors. On his only appearance this season, Onana made another mistake as United suffered a humiliating Carabao Cup exit at Grimsby Town.
His loan deal does not include an option for the Turkish club to sign him permanently when it runs out on June 30.
