Nkota Nominated Among Former Liverpool Star

Posted on October 1, 2025

Mohau Nkota continues to make waves in the Saudi Pro League, as he has been nominated for the Assist of the Week among none other than former Liverpool and Bayern Munich winger Sadio Mane.

Nkota, 20, joined Al-Ettifaq from Orlando Pirates in the beginning of the season and he hasn’t looked back so far.

The Bafana Bafana winger scored on his debut and now collected two assists in his side’s 3-1 win over Damac FC this past weekend, making it three goal involvements in four games.

Nkota’s assist for Khalid Al-Ghannam saw he him control a long ball, before taking on two defenders, moving past one after a stepover, running down the line and then firing in a low cross to set up the goal.

As a consequence, he was nominated for the Assist of the Week but will have to fend off competition from Sadio Mane and Musab Al-Juwayr – you can see all three assists below.
