Ncikazi – The Preparations Are Clear

Posted on February 19, 2026

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi says their preparations for Mamelodi Sundowns have been mainly about collecting maximum points.

The Buccaneers take on Masandawana in a top-of-the-table clash at FNB Stadium with the hosts looking to extend their lead at the summit to nine points while the Brazilians are playing catch up as they try and reduce the gap to three points.

Having won three clashes on the trot since the beginning of 2026, Pirates also set a new home record of 11 wins and will look to further extend that tonight.

Ncikazi was blunt in how their preparations have been about coming away with three points and the willingness to push themselves to win the game.

“The preparations are clear. We are preparing to win the match, we preparing to get points. We prepare all matches to try win them,” he told OP TV.

“We are going to give every effort to try and get three points.

“Preparing today [Tuesday] is just preparing to get points and win the match. That’s all we are preparing for.”

The last time these two sides met at the Calabash, Pirates ran out 2-1 victors courtesy of Relebohile Mofokeng’s double though that result did little to shatter Sundowns’ race to the league title.
