Nasreddine Nabi’s wife in ‘critical’ accident

Posted on August 9, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that coach Nasreddine Nabi will not travel with the team to Cape Town for their opening game of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.

A critical accident involving his wife took place in his home country of Tunisia, prompting him to depart on Friday evening to be with her and the family.

Nabi will return to South Africa once the situation has stabilised.

Technical team

Nasreddine Nabi has had discussions with the technical team to prepare for the game.

In his absence, first assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef and second assistant coach Cedric Kaze will be on bench for the match.

Kaizer Chiefs extended its best wishes to Nabi and his family during this challenging time, and asked all supporters to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.

Kaizer Chiefs will take on Stellenbosch FC at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday, 10 August.

Kick-off is at 17:30.
