‘Nasreddine Nabi is not coming back’ – Ex-Kaizer Chiefs attacker

Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Junior Khanye is under the impression that Amakhosi head coach Nasreddine Nabi will not return to Naturena.

The Tunisian tactician left the club just before the season kicked off to attend to his wife, who was involved in an accident. In the two Betway Premiership which Chiefs played, Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have guided the club to two wins.

Speaking after Amakhosi’s 1-0 win over Polokwane City on Wednesday, Khanye felt the home side deserved the win despite playing poor football.

“This was not an exciting game, to be honest. It lacked intensity and was played at a slow pace. But well done to the Chiefs; they deserved to win this game. They didn’t play beautiful football, but they were more aggressive than this team,” he said.

Kaizer Chiefs win without Nabi

The former SA U/23 star had his doubts about Nabi’s return, given how the team has performed without him.

“Personally, I had my doubts if he was coming back this season. They did mention in their statement that his wife was sick (involved in an accident). But when I look at it, I think it raises a lot of questions.

“Well done to the assistant coach, they won, but the team is still not balanced,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.

“For me, the technical team has shown that they can win without him.”

Kaizer Chiefs will next be in action against Richards Bay at home next Tuesday. The Glamour Boys are currently top of the log after two matches.

Will Nabi return?
