Kenya national team head coach Benni McCarthy has announced his squad for the upcoming African Nations Championship.
In a tumultuous week of preparation, where McCarthy’s side pulled out of the four-nations pre-CHAN tournament in Tanzania, he’s now officially trimmed five off the squad from the original 30-man preliminary squad in camp.
Former Cape Town City striker Masoud Juma who has spent seven years abroad, headlines the squad after stints in UAE, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Iran, since first leaving his homeland for Mzansi back in 2018.
Having returned to the East African nation, he’s now eligible for the tournament where only domestic based players are eligible to compete in the continental showpiece.
Kenya host Democratic Republic of Congo on August 3 in their Group A opener at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.
