It had to be a late goal that decides the match between Mamelodi Sundowns and kaizer Chiefs FC at the Lucas Master pieces Moripe stadium earlier today.

The two teams were playing their second league game of the 2023/24 DSTV Premier Soccer league season.

Mamelodi Sundowns beat Kaizer Chiefs by 2-1 and could have gotten away with more goals, if it was not because of the brilliance of Chiefs goal keeper Brandon pietersen.

Mamelodi Sundowns scored the first goal on the first half after Chiefs defence made an error and Lucas Costa bagged himself a goal for the Brazilians early in the first half.

The Glamour boys then got an equalizer drom Ashley Du Preez after he received a wonderful pass from Chiefs great midfielder Castillo, and tapped it in to make the score line 1-1.

It was only a few moments later that Neo Maema who came in as a sub scored the late winner for Mamelodi Sundowns and saved their day.

They could have scored a lot of goals if they took their chances well enough.
