Khune urges this Kaizer Chiefs player to leave for game-time

Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has opened up on the Amakhosi goalkeeping unit situation.

Brandon Peterson has established himself as the club’s first choice goalkeeper thanks to some stellar performances this season.

Peterson has already kept 15 clean-sheets this season in 26 matches. He’s been in the form of his life, however his form means those waiting for a chance are likely to enjoy virtually no game-time at Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs legend urges Bvuma to leave

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma have been urged to leave the club by Itumeleng Khune.

The Bafana Bafana and Amakhosi legend believes the academy product needs to go out on loan.

Recently Bontle Molefe left the club on a loan deal. The young goalkeeper joined Leicesterford City FC until the end of the season.

Khune has since revealed it was he who advised Molefe to leave, and now he hopes Bvuma follows the same path.

According to Soccer Laduma, Khune believes the only way for Bvuma to throw himself back into the conversation at Kaizer Chiefs is by going out on loan and showing his quality.

“He tried to play for DDC, but at some point, he was called to the first team to come and compete with us. But again, I think it’s good to see him going away and playing. He is growing, and if he doesn’t, he’s not a regular. He’s also been waiting on the wings to get his break. And yes, he got his break, but unfortunately, he didn’t grab the opportunity with both hands, hence why he’s been dropped to number two,” – Khune told the publication.

Bvuma’s numbers at Naturena

Bruce Bvuma has been part of the Amakhosi first-team for almost a decade. He graduated from the Kaizer Chiefs academy back in 2017.

Since then, Bvuma has made 79 appearances for the club. In total, he has registered 28 clean-sheets while conceding 86 goals for the club.

Bvuma is 30-years-old and still has a good few years of football left in him.
