Kaizer Chiefs enter crunch contract talks with star man

Posted on December 29, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs FC have reportedly opened contract extension talks with a key first-team player.

The Glamour Boys are gearing up for major second half of the season.

With the CAF Confederation Cup, Betway Premiership and Nedbank Cup trophies all up for grabs, Chiefs will have to be at their best to compete across the board.

And it’s for this reason that the club are trying to take a football-first approach. With players entering their final six months, the club don’t want their players losing focus.

Kaizer Chiefs open contract extension talks with Peterson

Brandon Peterson has been Kaizer Chiefs’ first-choice goalkeeper this season.

The 31-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Glamour Boys. In total, he has an impressive 11 clean-sheets to his name.

With his current contract ending in June, management are reportedly keen on sorting an extension out before the action gets underway again.

According to SABC Sport, Peterson is a player Kaizer Chiefs are keen on keeping at Naturena.

The Amakhosi management team are reportedly already working on a new contract for him.

Since joining the club, Peterson has made 66 appearances for the Glamour Boys.

He has 29 clean-sheets for Kaizer Chiefs while conceding 56 goals in total.
