Kaizer Chiefs bosses take major U-turn on Amakhosi fan-favourite!

Kaizer Chiefs FC know very well that they’re in for a long, grueling season.

The Glamour Boys will be competing for no less than four trophies this season.

This includes the CAF Confederations Cup, which will see Chiefs travel across the continent.

And now, the club have taken a surprise decision on one of their struggling stars!

Kaizer Chiefs extend Matlou’s contract

A player who was destined to leave the club looks set to remain for the upcoming season!

Such is the case for struggling midfielder Lehlogonolo George Matlou! The silky midfielder has struggled to knuckle down a place in Nasreddine Nabi’s squad.

Despite glimpses of his quality, Matlou struggled with consistency and was tipped to be offloaded by the club.

Given the club’s busy schedule ahead, Matlou will undoubtedly come in handy for Nabi at some point and management have instead decided to keep him around!

The player’s agency, MCS Sports Talent have confirmed that Matlou has signed a one-year contract extension!

He joined Kaizer Chiefs back in 2022 from Swallows. So far this season, he’s made just one cameo appearance for the Glamour Boys.

How impressed have you been with George Matlou?

George Matlou has made 41 appearances in his three-years at Kaizer Chiefs. Is he Amakhosi material? What are your thoughts on his performances for the Black and Gold?
