IDiski TV analysts Benedict Tso Vilakazi and Junior Khanye have given contrasting predictions for the Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The Soweto sides meet in the first derby of the season at FNB on Saturday coming from losses in the previous week.
The hosts of the encounter, Amakhosi are looking to climb on the log and narrow the gap between themselves and the top three sides on the table.
Pirates who have suffered back to back losses in the league and Nedbank Cup are looking to reclaim the top spot.
Tso says his former side will win 3-1 with Tshepang Moremi and Oswin Appollis having a big impact.
“With the confidence that I’ve got and with the players, I’ve got in my mind I have a picture of how they are going to perform” said Tso on IDiski TV.
“Moremi and Appollis supported by Tito [Patrick Maswanganyi] and the 2k King [Relebohile Mofokeng], they will play it’s going to be a totally different game.
“The score is going to be 3-1. Pirates are going to win the game 3-1. Pirates they’ve got options Moremi, Appollis, Tito, 2k King, [Evidence] Makgopa and don’t write off [Yanela] Mbuthuma if he gets a chance.
“I have seen that they can do it. I know a couple of derbies Tito and the king have risen to the occasion.
“They can draw attention and I know Chiefs are going to focus on them because the last two games they lost and they didn’t play well, so they’ll pull up their socks but they [Chiefs] are going to be hurt by Moremi and Appollis.”
For the former Chiefs winger Khanye believes the match will end in a stalemate.
“It’ s 1-1” said Khanye.
“Write it down it’s going to be 1-1. Rele is going to score, if he doesn’t Maswanganyi will.
“And with Chiefs if [Glody] Lilepo doesn’t score I suspect [Flavio] Silva is going to score.
“The thing about the derby is that it is full of surprises but for me it’s going to end 1-1”
