The 27-year-old recently spoke to members of the media including iDiski Times’ senior journalist Lorenz Köhler where he spoke about his wife’s support and how it kept him motivated.
“Before, like it was tough basically,” said Cupido.
“In all honesty, it was very tough for me personally, but my wife made it very easy. She told me that, ‘Listen here, everything works through God; if it’s his timing, it will work out’. And that kept me going, basically. So, I felt like she also played a major part in this, to keep me motivated, to keep my head down and to continue to work.
“So, I feel like that’s the most important thing, also having that support structure. And going into this season like the tournament, helped me a lot, it showed people who I am basically, my talent, me as a person, as a defender, and ja, like, now I feel like I have more confidence going into the season than the previous one.”
