Mamelodi Sundowns star Lucas Ribeiro Costa was the big winner at the Premier Soccer League awards on Tuesday evening, lifting four accolades, including the Footballer of the Season.

The Brazilian can look back at an outstanding 2024/25 campaign, scoring 21 goals and assisting in 14 more.

He was nominated in several categories and walked away with the coveted Footballer of the Season prize, which saw him bag R250 000.

In addition, he was also named Betway Premiership Player’s Player of the Season, the only award voted for by the players themselves – which earned him another R200 000.

In addition, Ribeiro’s solo goal against Orlando Pirates also won him the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season gong, earning him another R50 000 from the league’s sponsors.

And finally, Ribeiro also claimed the league’s golden boot after netting 16 times in 26 appearances for Masandawana. The Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot earned him another R50 000, making it an overall payday worth R550 000 for the Brazilian.

  • Player’s Player of the Season: R200 000
