Former Kaizer Chiefs target Khanyisa Mayo is packing his bags in Algeria, with CR Belouizdad confirming he’s not part of their plans for the new season.

The 27-year-old was left out of the club’s squad list and was not seen training with the first team amid whispers of a move away from Algiers.

The Umtata-born player famously confirmed on national radio that Kaizer Chiefs attempted to sign him 24 hours after he had already sealed a move to North Africa.

Mayo joined the Chababists from Cape Town City FC on 2 August 2024 before delivering six goals and one assist in 41 appearances.

Despite the coach’s admiration for Mayo’s work, Sead Ramovic confirmed that he is the one who made the decision.

“It was not an easy call. I have the utmost respect for him, but football is about timing and roles,” The Serb told iDiski Times’ Lorenz Kohler. “I believe a new challenge is best for him now,” Ramovic added.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen where the left-footed striker/winger will be moving to.

SHOULD KAIZER CHIEFS RETURN FOR HIS SIGNATURE?
