Ex-Kaizer Chiefs Defender Opens Up About Romania Move

Posted on July 4, 2023

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana has opened up on his move to Romanian side.

The Amakhosi development product secured a surprising move to a Romanian side FCSB after he was sold for an amount of R12 Million.

The defender has been one of the regular players in the colours of Amakhosi in the last few seasons ever since he was promoted to the senior club a couple of seasons ago.

However his move to the Romanian side came as a huge surprise to the supporters and to the player as well.

Speaking to the media recently the player has revealed some details on his move to the Romanian side while admitting that he was also caught by surprise.

The former Amakhosi defender revealed that he found himself in a place where he had to choose between two European sides and decided to choose the Romanian side FCSB.

“It caught me by surprise, but I was happy. I immediately informed my family about the interest from the Romanian team. We checked the team’s history first, and then I discussed it with my agent and I said, ‘yes, why not?” he told Romanian journalists.

As his new side is preparing for the upcoming season the player has already begun training with the remaining side in Netherlands as part of their preseason.

The former Amakhosi player also revealed the other club that had interest on his services which is Sheriff Tiraspol, a club based in Moldova.

Meanwhile Amakhosi are still yet to replace the player following his sudden exit from the club and the Soweto Giants have also been linked with a couple of players ahead of the upcoming season.

The club have also released several of their senior players who were not playing that much in the last season in attempt to create a space for those players that are expected to arrive at Amakhosi this current transfer window.
