Date, Kick-Off Time, Venue, Predicted XI

Posted on August 4, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs will kick off their 2025/26 Betway Premiership season against Stellenbosch FC this coming weekend.

Having spent three weeks in the Netherlands for their pre-season, Amakhosi returned to the country end of July, where they played Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup. Despite going down on penalties, Nasreddine Nabi’s men showed intent and looked positive at times.

This weekend, they face a Stellies side that edged out AmaZulu 3-2 in the MTN8 quarter-finals at home. Having played one competitive match, the Cape side will probably have an edge, given they are playing at home.

When and what time does Kaizer Chiefs play their next match?

Amakhosi will play Stellenbosch FC on Sunday (10 August) at 17:30 at the Cape Town Stadium. Last season, Chiefs won all three encounters and will go into the clash feeling confident. The Glamour Boys have gotten the better of Stellies and that might play in their hands if they start the match well.

If Chiefs concede early, they might struggle to come back, given their problems in front of goals. In six matches played in pre-season, Amakhosi only netted three times.

Kaizer Chiefs predicted starting 11

Brandon Petersen (GK)

Thabiso Monyane (RB)

Miguel Inacio (CB)

Aden McCarthy (CB)

Bradley Cross (LB)

Siphesihle Ndlovi (DM)

Thabo Cele (CM)

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo (AM)

Glody Lilepo (LW)

Pule Mmodi (RW)

Flavio Silva (ST)

Kaizer Chiefs are not in the MTN8 competition after failing to finish in the top 8 last season.
