Chippa United have secured the services of Chad international midfielder Éric Mbangossoum from Siwelele FC.
The 25-year-old arrived in South Africa with SuperSport United at the start of last season after four years in the Botola Pro with Union Touarga where he was among their key players as a tenacious defensive midfielder.
However, at SuperSport, he featured in various roles in midfield and as a centre-back in a back-three under then head coach Gavin Hunt.
With the club rebranded to Siwelele in this current off-season, his option lapsed and he resurfaced at Chippa, who are currently in Gauteng for pre-season.
Sources at the Chilli Boys has confirmed they have agreed terms with the player on a two-year deal, further bolstering their squad for new head coach Snethemba Badela.
Mbangossoum has racked up 19 senior international caps for his country since making his debut as a teenager in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier back in 2019.
