Broos Gives Update, 3 Bafana Stars Yet To Join Camp

Posted on December 15, 2025

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has given an update on Lyle Foster, Sphephelo Sithole and Shandre Campbell, who are yet to join the camp.

Foster featured 62 minutes for Burnley in their 3-2 Premier League defeat to Fulham on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Campbell made a 13-minute appearance for Club Brugge’s senior side in their 5-1 victory over Dender in the Jupiler Pro League.

And Sithole, who’s a regular for starter for Tondela, is likely to start against Nacional in the Liga Portugal on Monday night.

Broos explained that it was decided the three players would travel directly to Morocco, as the team will spend only two days in South Africa before departing for North Africa on Wednesday.

“We’re still not complete [as a team], Ngezana arrived yesterday [Sunday], it was something good cause he played last Thursday,” said Broos.

“There’s still Foster, Sithole and Campbell. Sithole is playing today [Monday], Campbell played yesterday [Sunday], 10 minutes and Foster played on Saturday.

“We decided to let them come directly to Marrakech because we didn’t see the reason why they must come here with us also playing against Ghana tomorrow [Tuesday], as we’re taking flights to Morocco on Wednesday.

“So, we will see Foster, Sithole and Campbell when we arrive in Marrakech on Thursday.”

Moreover, Siyabonga Ngezana arrived at the weekend, joining the team in camp as they continue preparing for the tournament.
