Broos Delighted With Return of Two Key Bafana Players

Posted on October 7, 2025

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has expressed his delight after welcoming back Khuliso Mudau and Sphephelo Sithole to the team.

Sithole hasn’t played for Bafana since September 2024, having been sidelined by a long-term injury.

Meanwhile, Mudau missed the last Bafana camp because he wasn’t featuring for his club, Mamelodi Sundowns, due to internal issues between the parties.

Broos hailed the return of the two key players as a major boost, noting that they have been part of the team’s core for a long time.

Mudau and Sithole were part of the team that won the AFCON bronze medal in Ivory Coast last year.

“If you talk about players who are back, I think you think of Khuliso and Sithole,” said Broos.

“Those players have always been very important for the team. It was a pity that we couldn’t select Sithole for a year because of his injury.

“It was a pity also that we couldn’t select Khuliso in September because there was a problem with his club.

“So, those players are back, and I think it’s very important for the team. So, every game is different, we can’t say we beat Zimbabwe 3-1 last year. On Friday, it will be a total different game as well.

“I think we will play a very motivated tram and will try to get us some points. We will have a strong team on the field, so I’m very happy with guys who are back.”
