South African football fans are stunned as Monnapule Saleng, the once-dominant winger for Orlando Pirates, is reportedly on the brink of a controversial move to bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs. According to SoccerLaduma, the 27-year-old has already signed a pre-contract with the Amakhosi—a move that’s sending shockwaves across the Premier Soccer League.

While official confirmation remains elusive, the rumour mill is on fire, and Pirates legend Benedict Vilakazi has already weighed in. “I don’t think Saleng is the type of player who fits Chiefs’ current playing style,” Vilakazi warned. He pointed to other players who fizzled at Chiefs despite big reputations—Khama Billiat, Keagan Dolly, and most recently, Gaston Sirino.

“What’s happening to Sirino now, is the same thing that happened to Billiat,” Vilakazi explained. “You can’t thrive when the team around you is falling apart. Saleng could suffer the same fate.”

Meanwhile, Chiefs are making bold moves elsewhere. Their long-time target Feisal Salum is reportedly on his way to Naturena after head coach Nasreddine Nabi traveled to Tanzania to personally meet the midfielder. If confirmed, it would mark Chiefs’ first official signing of the offseason.

With speculation mounting and tensions between fans rising, all eyes are on Naturena and Mayfair. Could this be the biggest betrayal in recent PSL history—or a career misstep in the making?
