Maboe Reveals Barca Legends He’d Loved To Have Played With

Posted on December 24, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe has revealed he would have been honoured to share the same pitch as Spain and Barcelona legends Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets.

Maboe, a product of the Glamour Boys academy, returned to Amakhosi this season after a trophy laden career at Mamelodi Sundowns spanning over a decade, having also spent a loan stint at the now defunct SuperSport United.

The 31-year-old’s return to Naturena has seen him feature three times across all competitions after recovering from an injury setback that delayed his start to life at Chiefs.

Speaking to the Chiefs media, ‘Cheesy’ mentioned the two football greats and how he would’ve loved to play alongside them.

“I think the one soccer player I would’ve loved to play with would probably be Iniesta,” he said.

“Iniesta or Busquets, just how they see the game and just how they do the simple things right.”
