Sebelebele On Pirates’ Title Push

Posted on December 22, 2025

Orlando Pirates winger Kamogelo Sebelebele has made a bold claim about their chances of winning the Betway Premiership title this campaign.

Pirates have a enjoyed a good start to the season on the domestic front securing the MTN8 for a fourth time in succession, bagging the Carling Knockout Cup and the Carling Black Label Cup already.

The Buccaneers went into the AFCON break sitting on top of the Betway Premiership table with 28 points in 12 matches, two points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns who have played 13 games.

For the past two seasons, Pirates have finished second with most people believing this current campaign is the one they can put up a formidable fight for league honours.

Speaking to iDiski Times senior writer Matshelane Mamabolo in edition 234, Sebelebele said his side just wants to remain consistent and not drop on the log.

“We don’t stress ourselves about what the other teams are doing,” Sebelebele told iDiski Times.

“We are playing well, and all we have to do is focus on ourselves. We just want to do what we are doing. We are going to try by all means to be consistent, so we don’t drop off the table. We want to win the league, and we believe we can do it.

The former TS Galaxy attacker also added that his coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has told them as players to keep calm heads despite of what they have already achieved while also crediting the depth in the team.

“Ja, he says we must not get overexcited because there is still a very long way to go in the season,” added Sebelebele.

“We must support each other. We can’t just wait; we want to win the league. We must show it on the pitch. The good thing is that we have a big and strong squad that, even when the coach rotates the players, it does not feel like something is missing.

“We have what it takes to be champions this season.”
