Broos To Reach Major Milestone

Hugo Broos will reach the major mile stone of taking charge of his 50th game in Bafana Bafana‘s Africa Cup of Nations opener against Angola.

The match will take place at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Monday, 22 December at 19:00 (SAST), when Bafana will take on Palancas Negras.

Broos took over at the helm of the South African men’s national team on 5 May 2021, and has become the longest-serving Bafana coach in history.

He has been in charge of 49 games, collecting 24 wins, 19 draws and just six defeats – with Bafana also climbing in the FIFA ranking from 75th to 61st.

They are are currently on a 25-match unbeaten run on the pitch, but it was halted by the admin blunder that saw them being docked three points from the win over Lesotho.
