De Reuck On Shock Fadlu Exit

Posted on December 19, 2025

SA international Rushine De Reuck has explained how difficult the exit of Fadlu Davids was for him and Neo Maema at Simba SC.

De Reuck and Maema joined Simba SC at the beginning of the season when Davids was the head coach at the time. It is believed that the duo was signed after Davids recommended them.

His exit at Simba came as a surprise to football fans in Tanzania and speaking to iDiski Times De Reuck explained how difficult it was for him and Maema to see Davids leaving the club, but because they are professional players and they need to continue.

“With Coach Fadlu leaving, it wasn’t easy for myself and Neo just coming into the team – we were hoping that we would spend more time with him, but it wasn’t the case. But that’s football; these types of things happen,” De Reuck told this publication.

“He was someone who had a good relationship with all the players, not only myself and Neo, but everyone felt it. But it’s football – it happens, it’s just important for me and all the players to remain professional and give the new coach the same respect, understand his ideas, and I think it’s been good.

“Simba is a big club, and we have a big responsibility – no matter who the head coach is. To perform and do our best and make our fans proud as we’re doing in this moment.”
