Mohafe Responds On Aka Absence

Posted on December 9, 2025

Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding assistant coach Brice Aka.

Aka hasn’t been with Rise and Shine for the past few weeks with rumours swirling that he might be heading to Durban City alongside Ernst Middendorp.

The former Jomo Cosmos striker has been with Rise and Shine assisting Mohafe as he also helped the side to settle in the league and finished in the top eight last season.

iDiski Times asked Mohafe about Aka but he kept his cards close to his chest.

“Did you see him here? No, he wasn’t, and, it cannot be the rumours, because he has left long time, long time. I think is about a month and two weeks, if I’m not mistaken,” Mohafe told this publication.

“Okay, so he has to fix certain things that he has to fix. And I just hope that he can come back because we had a very good time with him.”
