Chiefs Maintain Year-End Unbeaten Record

Posted on December 7, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs moved fourth on the Betway Premiership standings despite a 0-0 draw against 10-man TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Mduduzi Shabalala had half a chance to give Chiefs the lead after beating the offside trap just five minutes in, but his looped shot missed the target with Tape Ira well beaten.

Flavio Silva had the ball in the back of the net in the 19th minute, but was adjudged to have been offside.

Ira then pulled off a point-blank save from Khanyisa Mayo’s header from close range in the 38th minute.

In the 67th minute, Inacio Miguel’s header beat Tape in the Galaxy goal but the shot just sailed over the crossbar.

Glody Lilepo missed a glorious chance to win the match in the 82nd minute scuffing his shot from close range as the tie ended in a share of the spoils.

Nhlanhla Mgaga was sent off in stoppage time for the home side but that did not change the result on the afternoon.

The result also means that Amakhosi close off 2025 unbeaten, as they have done in each and every year with the record stretching as far back as 1999.
