Kaizer Chiefs to make 5 changes vs TS Galaxy?

Posted on December 6, 2025

The pressure is on. Kaizer Chiefs are desperate for a first win in four outings after a 2–1 loss in Egypt against Al Masry, a 1–1 draw against Zamalek, and a flat 0–0 with Chippa United.

Three points on Sunday will lift co-coach Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef’s side to third place, level with Mamelodi Sundowns on 26 points.

Meanwhile, three points for the Rockets will propel them from eighth to fifth.

SELECTION CHANGES AFTER THE CHIPPA OUTING

Kaizer Chiefs’ midfield cog Sibongiseni Mthethwa should retain his role in defensive midfield against a team as dangerous as TS Galaxy, freeing Lebohang Maboe to slot back into his number eight role. That means Nkosingiphile Ngcobo likely will watch from the bench.

At right-back, the in-form Dillan Solomons is expected to replace Thabiso Monyane, while in attack, Khanyisa Mayo has regained full fitness to stay as a right winger ahead of Mfundo Vilakazi. Mduduzi Shabalala will takes over the attacking midfield duties from George Matlou, while Flavio da Silva will make way for Etiosa Ighodaro.

FULL KAIZER CHIEFS STARTING LINE UP TO EXPECT

Brandon Petersen; Dillan Solomons, Zitha Kwinika, Inacio Miguel, Paseka Mako; Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Lebohang Maboe; Asanele Velebayi, Khanyisa Mayo; Etiosa Ighodaro.

Kaizer Chiefs haven’t beaten TS Galaxy in five straight league meetings, thanks to The Rockets’ solid organisation and sharp transitions.

As one of the most finely drilled sides in Mzansi, Galaxy’s intensity is unplayable at their best, as seen in a five-match unbeaten run this season: smashing Chippa United 4–1 and back-to-back 3–1 wins over Orbit College and AmaZulu.
