Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has found himself under scrutiny once again following a mistake made during the match against Siwelele on Wednesday evening.
The Brazilians were held to a 1-1 draw away from home, missing an opportunity to reclaim the top spot in the league.
Siwelele took the lead in the 27th minute against the run of play. Defender Johannes chose to pass a dangerous ball to Ronwen Williams instead of clearing it, leading to trouble. The Bafana Bafana international was dispossessed in the area by Tebogo Potsane, who then squared the ball to Vincent Pule for an easy tap-in.
Williams has faced criticism for the goal, with social media users expressing their frustration after the Bafana keeper conceded another avoidable goal.
Just last week, he came under fire for failing to stop a goal from Saint Eloi Lupopo in the CAF Champions League.
Ronwen Williams makes another blunder
With the Afcon just three weeks away, many Bafana fans are worried about their captain’s form going into the tournament. The 33-year-old shotstopper has not been at his best this season, and fans have reasons to worry.
