Pirates legend Manyisa makes massive statement on Mbule
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Reddit

Former Orlando Pirates superstar midfielder, Oupa Manyisa, has made it clear that he always has time to watch Sipho Mbule play football.

Mbule, born in Bethlehem, Free State, 27 years ago, has become an instant fan favourite since arriving in Soweto after he was let go by Mamelodi Sundowns.

SIPHO MBULE WINS OVER ORLANDO PIRATES LEGEND OUPA MANYISA

While Mbule has surprisingly yet to score and strike an assist for the Sea Robbers in 15 matches, football, at a club like Orlando Pirates, is about more than just stats. Mbule’s composure on the ball, imagination and touch have already won over thousands of Buccaneers supporters.

Manyisa believes Mbule can showcase his ability on the world stage. “He is a very, very talanted player,” Manyisa said on Mbule on the PrimeSportsWithMahlatse podcast. “He is a very special player…

“Him going to Orlando Pirates and adjusting very well around all those players that are working for him has been great, because he doesn’t run a lot… there are guys that will run, he will hold the ball and give it to them…

Manyisa, hailing from Mohlakeng in Gauteng, knows what it takes to be an Orlando Pirates ace. He scored 26 goals and served 17 assists in 230 matches for the Sea Robbers, before adding one goal and two assists in 47 appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns. Additionally, he collected five league titles, three with Sundowns and two with the Buccaneers.

“I think he is coming alright, if he goes to Afcon with these performances, and to the World Cup, I don’t see him coming back. He is going to stay on that side; he can go to Europe,” the Orlando Pirates legend concluded on the Bafana Bafana star that has been named in the Afcon 2025 squad.

DOES SIPHO MBULE KNOW WHERE THE GOAL NET IS?

History reveals that Mbule’s goals and assists in Orlando Pirates can be expected sooner rather than later. At SuperSport United, the player known as “Master Chef” produced 11 goals and 10 assists in 101 games. He added three goals and one assist in 51 outings at Mamelodi Sundowns, followed by two goals and three assists in just 17 matches for Sekhukhune United.

In terms of winning experience, he lifted two league titles and the African Football League trophy at Sundowns, won the MTN8 with SuperSport United, and added another MTN8 medal with Orlando Pirates this season.
