Solomons saves Kaizer Chiefs’ blushes against Zamalek

Posted on November 30, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs right back Dillan Solomons rescued a near loss against Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Solomon’s equaliser came in the fourth of nine added minutes.

CAF CONFEDERATION CUP: KAIZER CHIEFS 1-1 ZAMALEK SC

Amakhosi were caught napping early on, and after conceding two chances in quick succession, they paid the price as Seifeddine Jaziri put Zamalek ahead in the third minute.

Gaston Sirino quickly responded with a distant volley but only saw his wonderful effort hit the post. Just when Zamalek felt they had the three points in the bag, Solomons’ intended cross was deflected into the net by goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi to throw away two points.

The result leaves Kaizer Chiefs with a point in two matches following the opening 2-1 loss to Al Masry. While Zamalek are on four points after they had won 1-0 against Zambia’s Zesco United on day one in Group C.
