Two forgotten Pirates players returning

Posted on November 24, 2025

Orlando Pirates star Olisa Ndah suffered a tibia and fibula fracture on 24 September 2024, which is no less than 426 days ago.

His teammate, Makhehlele Makhuala, suffered a serious ankle injury on 14 May during a 3-0 win over Golden Arrows, which is 192 days ago.

ORLANDO PIRATES UPDATE ON OLISA NDAH AND MAKHEHLENE MAKHAULA

In the build-up to facing Chippa United in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday night at 19:00 in Soweto, the mighty Sea Robbers assured fans that the central defender and defensive midfielder are moving closer to the match grass.

“Olisa Ndah and Makhehleni Makhaula both inch closer to featuring for the first time this season,” the club said on its official website.

Before the staggering injury, Ndah, 27 and a Nigeria Professinal Football League champion with Akwa United, played 81 games for Pirates, while also winning three MTN8 trophies and a Nedbank Cup title.

Makhaula, who has two MTN8 gold medals and one for the Nedbank Cup, played 73 times for Pirates and scored twice.

In these two players’ positions, the club have signed extraordinary talents. The 24-year-old central defender Lebone Seema is in Ndah’s place, while Makhaula’s new competition is Sihle Nduli.

CHIPPA UNITED IN SOWETO

Orlando Pirates are back in Betway Premiership action on Tuesday night, welcoming Chippa United to Orlando Stadium.

The Chilli Boys have had a rough start to the season, and the league table tells the story. Sitting bottom with only seven points from 12 games, Chippa have managed just a single win so far—a 2-1 triumph over Orbit College. They’ve also suffered three defeats and drawn three times, while their away form has been a real struggle.

On the road, Chippa have picked up only one point, scoring just three goals in five matches, while letting in six.
