Mabena Scores Back-To-Back For Sundowns

Siyabonga Mabena has scored in back-to-back DStv Diski Challenge games for Mamelodi Sundowns’ as they kept up with Orlando Pirates after beating the 10-man Polokwane City 4-0 on Sunday.

Sundowns had a perfect start to the game after Mabena slotted home within five minutes to make it 1-0.

Kabelo Sibande doubled the lead for Masandawana giving Rise and Shine a lot to think about in the second half. In the 76th minute Sundowns made it 3-0 through Simphiwe Mlondo, and just three minutes later they increased the lead to 4-0 via Oarabile Booysen.

The victory saw Downs close their gap to leaders Pirates to just two points after 12 games, with the Buccaneers having 25 points so far.

Following a goalless draw in the first half between Magesi and Stellenbosch FC, Dikwena tsa Metsi came back guns blazing in the second half and scored three goals to seal the win. It meant back-to-back defeats for the Cape Winelands side, meanwhile Magesi extended the unbeaten run to six matches.
