Orlando Pirates star Mbokazi set to leave, R50 million deal agreed

Orlando Pirates superstar Mbekezeli Mbokazi has been linked with a sensational move away from the club.

The Bafana Bafana star has reportedly jetted out of the country, to complete a deal overseas.

Mbokazi’s rise to stardom has been nothing short of remarkable. And now, the 20-year-old defender looks set to begin his next chapter of his career!

Orlando Pirates star set to join MLS club

According to the latest transfer reports, Mbekezeli Mbokazi has travelled to America with a blockbuster move to MLS side Chicago Fire.

Veteran South African journalist Mark Gleeson has reported that a $3 million deal has been agreed upon between the two clubs.

Mbokazi is currently in America and is discussing his personal terms with the MLS side. If everything is agreed upon, the Orlando Pirates star will officially become a Chicago Fire player.

“Orlando Pirates defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi is in the United States this weekend discussing a possible move to Chicago Fire, officials have confirmed. The 20-year-old centre back is set to make a US$3 million transfer to Major League Soccer if he agrees to terms and signs,” a SuperSport report read regarding Mbokazi.

Mbokazi’s numbers in the PSL

Mbokazi has made 37 appearances for the Buccaneers. He has two goals and two assists to his name. He’s also a regular for Bafana Bafana.

The youngster was named as the Orlando Pirates deputy captain for the ongoing campaign.
