Pitso Mosimane signs deal with African giants to boost academy

Posted on November 21, 2025

Pitso Mosimane has signed a groundbreaking coaching deal with Tanzanian side Young Africans.

The legendary South African coach has been busy in his quest to unearth future stars while he waits for his next senior coaching role.

The 61-year-old coach last coached Iranian side Esteghlal FC last. He parted ways with them early in the year meaning he’s spent majority of 2025 away from the dugout.

Pitso Mosimane joins forces with Young Africans

Pitso Mosimane is set to shape the future of Tanzanian football! The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has reached an agreement with Yanga to help train their academy coaches and implement his ‘PMSS’ philosophy at the club.

Yanga are one of the biggest clubs not only in Tanzania but also on the continent. The club have become a standard feature in the CAF Champions League over recent years.

They’ve also won four league titles in a row, taking their total to an incredible 26. Now, the club have one eye on the future and they’re looking to the South African coach to help them continue their dominance.

“We have spoken with coach Pitso Mosimane. He has accepted our request to provide training for our youth coaches. Our aim is to utilise his football philosophy and strengthen ours as well. We are very grateful to coach Mosimane for accepting the invitation to join us on this historic day,” Yanga president Hersi Said said as quoted by KickOff.

Mosimane’s next move

Pitso Mosimane was strongly linked with a move to coach the Zimbabwean national team. Marian Marinica however named as their new coach meaning ‘Jingles’ is still very much on the market.
