Kaizer Chiefs legend reveals the one thing Mbule still lacks

Posted on November 17, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs legend Tsepo Masilela has highlighted what Orlando Pirates star Sipho Mbule lacks in his game.

The 27-year-old was named Man of the Match during Bafana Bafana’s 3-1 win over Zambia this past weekend. “Masterchef” has rejuvenated his career since joining Orlando Pirates back in July.

His good form saw him return to the Bafana setup and play in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Following Mbule’s performance against Zambia, former Chiefs and Bafana Bafana left-back praised the midfielder, but felt he needed to start scoring to become a complete attacking midfielder.

“You just need goals, here and there to chip in with the goals,” Masilela said on SoccerBeat.

“First half he [Mbule] had that cross that he ballooned over. We want him to convert those chances. He has to chip in with the goals but the two assists, the first was brilliant, how he managed to dribble, and there were two guys trying to press him and being able to spot Apppollis.”

After two years dealing with off-the-field issues, Mbule was given a second chance at Pirates and took the opportunity with both hands. He has since become a fan favourite amongst the Bucs faithful.

He will likely represent Bafana Bafana during the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. His form for both club and country has impressed Hugo Broos, who made it clear that Mbule was given his final chance to prove his worth.

Do you agree with Masilela?
