Best XI ‘revealed’, Du Preez warned of abuse

Kaizer Chiefs are minus a few key defensive players. Their uptick in form in recent weeks could be boosted further.

Meanwhile, Ashley Du Preez has fallen far out of favour.

Petersen; Monyane, Msimango, Miguel, Dortley; Cele, Mthethwa; Shabalala, Ngcobo, Mmodi; Silva.

This combination would see Dortley shifted to a narrow left-back role. The likes of Siphesihle Ndlovu, Mfundo Vilakazi, Ashley du Preez and Gaston Sirino, among others, would have to be content with a place on the bench. What does your best XI look like?

Du Preez told to stay away from social media

Ashley Du Preez has been a fringe operator this season for Chiefs, only making four appearances in the league. Ex-coach Cavin Johnson has urged the striker to stay away from social media.

“Look, as far as that is concerned [criticism from supporters on social media], the player of today, and especially when you play for Kaizer Chiefs, as a player, no matter what position you play, it’s about who you play for,” Johnson told Soccer Laduma.

“Especially if you miss a goal, social media, the news, all of them, they are all over you. So as a player, I think Ashley has to recover himself and stay away from those areas. Don’t look or read because Chiefs don’t only have [one source covering them], no!
