Ndamane Opens Up On Chiefs Exit
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Reddit

TS Galaxy centre-back Khulumani Ndamane has opened up about his exit from Kaizer Chiefs, saying it wasn’t painful.

Ndamane’s road to professional football includes playing for Amakhosi’s U19 side and eventually for their DStv Diski Challenge squad.

However the 21-year-old wasn’t promoted to the first team and instead left to join the Rockets where he impressed since arriving.

Ndamane told iDiski Times senior journalist Matshelane Mamabolo in edition 229 of the newspaper that he understood and accepted that things don’t always go according to how one wishes.

“It was not painful,” Ndamane told iDiski Times.

“There are a lot of players in this game and if you don’t get a chance, you must accept it. Football doesn’t always take you where you want to go.

“I saw that things were not happening the way I wished, so I decided to come to TS Galaxy. And fortunately, when I arrived here, things went my way.”

The Bafana Bafana international also views not making it to Chiefs first team as a blessing in disguise, saying there is room to make mistakes and grow at Galaxy visa vie the high expectations at Chiefs.

“At teams like Chiefs, expectations are huge,” added Ndamane.

“As a youngster, you still make mistakes and sometimes the pressure can be too much. But here at Galaxy, they allow you to make mistakes and learn. That has helped me grow – not just as a player, but mentally too.”

You can read Ndamane’s full comments in Mamabolo’s feature on the youngster’s steady growth in edition 229 when you subscribe to IDiski Times media WhatsApp number for FREE.
