Ouaddou Reacts To Pirates Reaching CKC Final

Posted on November 9, 2025

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has applauded his charges for showing bravery in their hard-fought 1-0 Carling Knockout Cup semifinal win over Richards Bay.

The Buccaneers reached their second cup final of the season after clinching the MTN8 earlier this campaign and are on course for a double before the curtain falls on 2025.

Tshepang Moremi struck in the 42nd minute to ensure victory and into the League Cup final for the first time since the 2018/19 season.

Ouaddou brimmed with pride though he admitted Richards Bay were not an easy side to overcome on the afternoon.

“First of all, I’m proud of my boys. They played with bravery today,” he told SuperSport TV.

“They were brave. It was not an easy game. We played against a very good team of Richards Bay with a good coach with good organisation.

“We knew they will fight till the end. Cup matches are about hard; it’s about team spirit. We saw today after playing three days ago against Golden Arrows it was not easy.

“But thanks to the fantastic fans of Durban, we’ve been received with top-top high level very warm welcome thanks to them. The hospitality here is tough.

“So, yeah it’s good that we’re through to the final.”
