Orlando Pirates have good and bad news on the injury front. Relebohile Mofokeng is back, but two key stars are still on the comeback trail.
21-year-old Mofokeng has travelled with the squad, as has Simphiwe Selepe ahead of the Golden Arrows clash.
Key defensive duo Olisa Ndah and Thabiso Sesane are still out.
Mofokeng, Selepe return for Orlando Pirates
After dazzling in recent seasons, 2025-2026 has been one of the first hurdles for 21-year-old Relebohile Mofokeng to negotiate. The star wide player, who also excels in the number 10 role, has yet to assist or score for the Buccaneers this season. Form is temporary and class is permanent, however. Rele already has 41 direct goal contributions after 101 outings for the Sea Robbers. Utility man Simphiwe Selepe has also travelled with the group.
“There could be a reshuffling of the pack in a match that kicks off a busy week, with the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng and Simphiwe Selepe nearing a return after missing out on a fair bit of the action this season,” an official Orlando Pirates statement read.
Where is Pirates central defender Thabiso Sesane?
There’s still no sign of gifted defensive stalwart Thabiso Sesane. The 25-year-old went under the knife after a tendon injury in February and the club is still easing him back to full training, but a return isn’t far off. Nigerian star Olisa Ndah is also still out. In the duo’s absence, however, new signing Lebone Seema has formed a fruitful partnership with the gifted youngster Mbekezeli Mbokazi at the heart of Pirates’ back four. Even club captain Nkosinathi Sibisi can’t get into the side regularly, illustrating their depth in the position.
