Pirates to travel away: Carling Knockout semis confirmed

Orlando Pirates are seen as the favourites to win the Carling Knockout after the shock exits of Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs in the first round.

Marumo Gallants dumped out Kabo Yellow on penalty shootouts after a 0-0 defensive masterclass that included extra time. Amakhosi also went out on penalties after a goalless draw against Stellenbosch FC.

The draw for the semi-finals was made in Bloemfontein on Wednesday night after Gallants outclassed Stellenbosch with a 4-0 win.

CARLING KNOCKOUT DRAW CONFIRMED AS ORLANDO PIRATES VISIT RICHARDS BAY FC

Golden Arrows became the first team to make the final four after a 2-1 win over TS Galaxy last week. Richards Bay took the second slot following a 3-1 win over Durban City.

Orlando Pirates were the next team to advance with the 2-1 victory over Magesi FC, and lastly it was Gallants with 4-0 over Stellies.

The draw has confirmed that Golden Arrows will be at home to Marumo Gallants. The two sides will first battle in the Betway Premiership before the cup clash on Sunday in Durban.

The second semifinal fixtures will be Richards Bay welcoming Orlando Pirates in KZN.

  • Golden Arrows vs Marumo Gallants
  • Richards Bay vs Orlando Pirates.

Meanwhile, the dates and venues will be announced in due course.
