Sundowns vs Orlando Pirates: Date, kickoff time, how to watch

Posted on October 29, 2025

Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates do battle again this weekend as the nation’s top two sides look to make a statement.

Pirates can go level on points with Sundowns if they win, and they’ll still have a game in hand on the Brazilians.

Here’s all you need to know.

Orlando Pirates warm up for Sundowns clash with cup win

Pirates suffered a late scare to secure their place in the Telkom Knockout semis with a 2-1 win over Magesi. That came courtesy of great strikes from Tshepang Moremi and Evidence Makgopa. Next up is a clash with the league leaders and champions. Sundowns vs Orlando Pirates kicks off at 15:30 on Saturday, 1 November and will be on DSTV channel 202.

Ex-Orlando Pirates man Foster flies the Bafana flag in the Premier League

Bafana and Burnley striker Lyle Foster is industrious and loves to press, making him perfect for the English game. His link play is good, but he really thrives in a team that doesn’t necessarily enjoy long periods in possession of the ball. Perhaps this explains why he wasn’t a natural fit for Orlando Pirates. It also goes a long way to explaining why he’s found his niche at Burnley; a team priding itself on hard work, something they’ll desperately need to keep up to survive in the cutthroat arena of the English Premier League. Maybe Foster was never destined to play for a side fighting for trophies, but rather in sides fighting against the drop in the world’s most demanding competitions. He’s got two goals and an assist so far in eight league appearances this term.
