Chiefs XI vs Simba Confirmed

Kaizer Chiefs have announced their starting line-up to face DRC side AS Simba in the CAF Confederation Cup in Lubumbashi this afternoon. 

Club football returns with entertaining CAF inter-club competition where Chiefs have a huge task against Linafoot side AS Simba in the CAFCC second preliminary round.

The Kolwezi-based side got into this club competition after winning Coupe du Congo, beating FC Mk de Kinshasa. In the first round of the CAFCC they eliminated Comoros side Djabal FC 3-0 on aggregate. 

Meanwhile, Amakhosi eliminated Angolan side Kabuscorp SCP on penalties after their first-round tie had ended 1-1 over the two legs.  

Chiefs qualified for this competition by winning the Nedbank Cup after ending their 10-year trophy drought last season.

The two sides face each other for the first time but it is promising to be a mouthwatering clash, especially since their is an alleged $25 000 bonus in place for Simba players and staff should they beat Chiefs.

Chiefs XI: Petersen, Cross, Miguel, Kwinika ©, Solomons, Mthethwa, Ndlovu, Ngcobo, Mmodi, Lilepo, Mayo

Subs: Bvuma, Frosler, McCarthy, Cele, Shabalala, Vilakazi, Sirino, Du Preez, Duba
