Saleng Nets Winner As ORBIT Beat R Bay

Posted on October 17, 2025

Orlando Pirates loanee Monnapule Saleng netted the winner as Orbit College recorded a hard-fought 2-1 Betway Premiership win over Richards Bay at Umhlathuze Sports Stadium on Friday night.

Saleng was shipped out on loan at the beginning of the season to the Betway Premiership rookies after a fallout with the Soweto giants that saw him almost miss half of the matches last season.

His arrival at Orbit was met with much fanfare but he didn’t immediately hit the ground running struggling to break into the matchday squad.

The 27-year-old pacey attacker looks to be slowly getting back to the dangermen he once was at Pirates terrorising opposition defenders.

On Friday evening, Saleng scored his first goal in Orbit College colours, tapping in from close range in the 51st minute to hand Mswenko Boys the hard-fought maximum points on the road.

Lethabo Modimoeng had given the visitors the lead in the 14th minute but the Natal Rich Boys hit back through in-form hitman Knox Mutizwa in the 38th minute before Saleng wrapped it up for Orbit earlier on in the second half.

The win saw Orbit move into 12th spot with 10 points after 10 matches.
