Zimbabwe & Bafana Starting XIs Confirmed

Posted on October 11, 2025

Zimbabwe and Bafana Bafana have confirmed their respective starting lineups for this evening’s much anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Warriors come into clash nothing to fight for in terms of qualification rather than preparing for the upcoming AFCON which will be held in Morocco. Zim accumulated only four points in eight games they played. After losing 3-1 to South Africa back in June last year they would want to get a revenge which could be the sweet one as Bafana Bafana aim to get a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, South Africa have all to play for this evening as anything less than a win won’t be enough for the 1996 AFCON winners. After the deduction of three points, South Africa find themselves in second place of Group C level on points with Benin just one goal behind.

South Africa haven’t lost to Zimbabwe since 2013 which is more than a decade ago. Bafana would be satisfied with a win and possibly lots of goals depending on the Benin against Rwanda clash.

Here is how both sides will square up:

Zimbabwe Starting XI: Arubi, Zemura, Garananga, Lunga, Hadebe, Billiat, Nakamba, Chirewa, Munetsi, Musona, Takwara

Subs: Mapisa, Chipezeze, Fabisch, Maswanhise, Dzvukamanja, Jalai, Dube, Ngwenya, W. Musona, Galloway, Antonio, Murwira

Bafana Starting XI: Williams (c), Mbokazi, Sibisi, Modiba, Mudau, Mokoena, Sithole, Mbule, Nkota, Apollis, Foster

Subs: Chaine, Goss, Khoza, Ndamane, Mbatha, Moremi, Shabalala, Matuludi, Makgopa, Aubaas, Kabini, Morena
