Milford Top & Leopards Still Bottom As Bad Run Continues

Posted on October 5, 2025

Milford FC picked up their fourth win on the trot after a 2-0 win over Baroka FC away from home to move top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings as Black Leopards remained rooted at the bottom of the league table.

Milford surprised Baroka in Limpopo as on loan striker Cheswyn Philander scored the opening goal inside five minutes before Cebolenkosi Mthethwa made it 2-0 with just 12 minutes remaining into the game. The KwaZulu-Natal-based side made it five wins in four matches and moved top of the table.

Casric Stars dropped points against Pretoria University after the two sides played to a 1-1 draw. AmaTuks scored in the 77th minute through Kamohelo Pheeane, but conceded with one minute left on the clock Stars equalised which has now seen AmaTuks going six draws in a row.

Despite finally sorting out their registration issues, Lidoda Duvha suffered yet another defeat, going down 1-0 to Eastern Cape-based side Highbury FC. Menzi Ndwandwe came off the bench to score the crucial goal for Amajuba as they moved up to third place just three points behind Milford who are log leaders.

The Bees returned to winning ways beating Upington City 2-0. Madela Menzi netted a brace to secure the much-needed three points to move them into fourth place.

Kruger United hammered Hungry Lions away from home by 3-0 with Khethukuthula Ndlovu scoring twice before Thobela Shakhane scored the third goal to make it 3-0.

Venda FC returned to winning ways ending their three-match winless run beating Lerumo Lions 1-0. Veteran midfielder Deolin Mekoa scored the crucial goal in the 68th minute while 10-men of Midlands Wanderers held Gomora United to a goalless draw which ended Wanderers four-match losing streak.
