Posted on October 5, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs are back in Cape Town. Just weeks after their 2-0 league win at Athlone Stadium, Amakhosi make the trip again, this time with cup ambitions on the line.

Stellenbosch, though, have their own history to believe in after winning the 2023 Carling Knockout against TS Galaxy at Moses Mabhida.

How have the coaches setups the starting lineups?

A LOOK AT THE BOOKS

Last season ended in the quarterfinals at the hands of Marumo Gallants, but Stellies know how to get this trophy.

Chiefs’ memories are not exciting. Their last Carling campaign also ended in the quarters, hammered 4-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium.

The fixture itself has the feel of a great opportunity. Two sides struggling in the Betway Premiership. Two fanbases desperate for a lift. And knockout football that doesn’t allow draws.

Kickoff is set for 15:00 is DHL Stadium in Green Point. The starting XIs will reveal who’s trusted to spark change, but the stakes are already clear: win and gain momentum, or crash out and let the doubts deepen.
